Tuolumne court notice: Claim unclaimed funds by June 30 or they become court property
Tuolumne County residents are being told that the Superior Court of California, County of Tuolumne has money on deposit in its Trial Court Trust Fund that has not been claimed for at least three years.
The courtโs public notice (dated April 30, 2026) says that if you believe you or a person for whom you are a legal guardian or representative is entitled to all or a portion of those funds, you must take action by June 30, 2026.
Two ways to claim the money before the deadline
In the notice, the court says you must do one of the following (and complete it by 6/30/2026):
- Submit the claim forms available on the courtโs website, with the forms submitted no later than the normal court closing time of 5:00 PM PST.
- File and serve a verified complaint seeking recovery of the funds.
The notice also says claim forms will be made available in physical form at the clerk windows on the first floor of the court, and that physical submission will be accepted at the clerk windows until 5PM (6/30/2026).
If you miss June 30, 2026
The court says the funds will become the property of the superior court if the owner(s) fail to present a claim or fail to file and serve a verified complaint seeking recovery of the funds by 6/30/2026.
Under California Government Code ยง 68084.1, after unclaimed money becomes property of the court, the law directs that it be transferred to the courtโs Trial Court Operations Fund.
