1,750-Home Expansion, New 55+ Community Signal Major Growth in Port St. Lucie
Port St. Lucie, FL – April 3, 2026 – Two major housing projects and a new 55+ community add momentum to the city’s fast-growing development corridor.
Port St. Lucie’s development pipeline continues to accelerate, with two large residential announcements this week reinforcing the city’s role as one of Florida’s fastest-growing housing markets.
1,750 Homes Planned at Solaeris
A national homebuilder has purchased land within the 3,300-acre Solaeris master-planned community and plans to build more than 1,750 homes across two neighborhoods.
The larger community will feature roughly 1,200 homes, including single-family residences, villas and condos, along with a golf course and resort-style amenities. A second neighborhood will add more than 500 single-family homes and its own amenity center.
Initial site work is underway. Sales are projected to begin in 2027.
New 55+ Community Also Moving Forward
In a separate announcement, another builder confirmed plans for a new active adult 55+ community, also within Solaeris. Land development has begun, with a grand opening anticipated in spring 2027.
The project adds to the growing inventory of age-restricted communities in western Port St. Lucie, reflecting sustained demand from retirees relocating to the Treasure Coast.
Riverland Prelaunch Signals Continued Westward Growth
Meanwhile, a separate residential community within the Riverland area has begun accepting interest registrations ahead of its prelaunch phase. The move signals continued expansion near Southern Grove and Tradition, where infrastructure investments and commercial buildout have supported rapid housing growth.
Why It Matters
These projects collectively represent thousands of future residents and significant long-term impact on roads, utilities, schools and public services. Much of the activity is concentrated along the city’s western growth corridor, an area already identified for infrastructure planning and phased expansion.
With multiple large-scale communities breaking ground or preparing for sales, Port St. Lucie’s housing supply is expanding — but so are conversations about traffic capacity, workforce housing and balanced growth.
