Bargersville Growth Brief: Utilities, Public Works, and Mixed-Use Development
Bargersville, IN – April 3, 2026 – Utility leadership changes, spring brush pickup and a planned mixed-use project point to steady town growth.
This week’s strongest local growth signals are coming from municipal operations, public works and a major housing project rather than from a large batch of new headlines.
Government and Utilities
In early March, the town announced leadership changes in two key departments. Kevin Kredit was promoted to utilities manager, overseeing water, wastewater, infrastructure maintenance and system planning. Ryan Ellis was promoted to information technology director, with responsibility for the systems that support town operations and resident services.
For a fast-growing community, those staffing moves matter. They suggest Bargersville is continuing to build management capacity around core services that growth depends on, especially utility reliability, maintenance planning and digital support inside Town Hall.
Infrastructure and Environment
Seasonal brush and limb pickup is scheduled to begin Monday, April 6, and run through Monday, September 21, on the first and third Mondays of each month for eligible neighborhoods. The program is a routine service, but it also reflects the kind of recurring public works work that becomes more important as neighborhoods expand and yard waste volumes rise.
The town notes that service is for residents only, with limits on size and materials. That kind of detail points to a more structured approach to neighborhood maintenance and curbside operations.
Housing and Economic Development
One of the clearest medium-term growth indicators remains The Jefferson, a previously approved mixed-use project at State Road 135 and County Road 144. Town officials said the development represents a $59 million investment, with 255 apartment homes and 11,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. Construction was expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026 following local approvals.
Taken together, the latest signals show Bargersville balancing near-term service delivery with longer-range development. The current picture is less about a single new announcement and more about whether town systems, neighborhood services and downtown-edge projects are lining up to support the next phase of growth.
