Bellevue will launch 500-device Lime scooter and e-bike program Aug. 10, 2026

Bellevue will launch its first shared micromobility program Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, when Lime begins deploying 500 electric devices citywide.

The initial fleet will include 350 scooters, 50 e-bikes and 100 seated gliders. The city says the service is intended to support first- and last-mile trips, transit connections and everyday errands.

How Bellevue riders can use the service

Riders will be able to unlock devices through the Lime app. People without a smartphone can use text access at 415-463-3473.

The Bellevue announcement does not specify ride prices. Riders should check the Lime app for current trip information and the parking locations allowed for the service.

Reduced fares may be available through Lime Access for eligible users of ORCA LIFT, RRFP, Medicaid and other assistance programs. Eligibility does not mean automatic enrollment; riders will need to use Lime’s access process.

Parking rules will affect sidewalks and entrances

Bellevue is directing riders to park in locations allowed by the Lime app, including marked parking corrals when available.

Riders should not block sidewalks, curb ramps, transit stops or building entrances. They must leave at least six feet of clear sidewalk space and avoid no-parking zones identified in the app, including areas in city parks.

Residents can report blocked or damaged devices to Lime through the app, by emailing support@li.me or by calling 888-546-3345. The city says those channels can also be used for devices parked incorrectly or needing removal from or near private property.

What Bellevue says about riding safely

The city encourages riders to use bike lanes or multiuse paths whenever possible. Sidewalk riding is not allowed unless no other safe alternative is available.

When sidewalk riding is necessary, riders should slow down, yield to people walking and rolling, and walk the device in crowded areas. Helmet use is required for bicycles and e-bikes and strongly encouraged for scooter riders. Bellevue also says riders should travel alone and never operate a device while intoxicated.

Discounts and public feedback planned later

Bellevue says riders may receive discounts for trips ending near light rail stations or transit centers later in fall 2026. The city announcement does not describe those discounts as available at the Aug. 10 launch.

City staff will monitor conditions during the launch period. Residents can provide broader program feedback through Bellevue’s micromobility feedback form or by emailing micromobility@bellevuewa.gov.

The city and Lime have scheduled a public launch event for Friday, Aug. 21, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Amazon Meadow, 600 108th Ave. NE. The planned event will include mobility resources from community partners and free helmet distribution from Lime.
