Multi-Vehicle Crash at Gray Rd & E 146th St
Carmel, IN — February 3, 2026 — A serious multi-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Gray Road and East 146th Street on Sunday, resulting in multiple injuries. Emergency responders arrived promptly to provide on-site medical care. The exact number of individuals injured and the nature of their injuries have not been disclosed. Joyce Irwin, president and CEO of Community Health Network Foundation, has announced her plans to retire on July 3, 2026, after nearly 14 years in the role. Throughout her 30-year career, Irwin has received numerous accolades, including the 2018 National Association of Women Business Owners’ Trailblazer Award and the 2018 Hoosier Heritage Lifetime Achievement Award. A search for her successor is currently underway.

Centra Credit Union has awarded $2,500 grants to five local nonprofits: Family Promise of Hamilton County, Boone County Cancer Society, YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, Coburn Place Safe Haven, and Riverview Health – Women of Vision Giving Club. These organizations were nominated by Centra employees and are among 50 recipients of grants totaling $125,000.

This nonpartisan competition tests students’ knowledge of civics through a written essay and live events at regional, state, and national levels. Finalists advancing to the National Championship in Washington, D.C., will compete for cash prizes and a $100,000 529 education savings plan contribution. The central Indiana regional competition is sponsored by the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce. The essay application portal is open through February 3. Carmel-based financial services provider Merchants Capital has announced over $56 million in financing for the acquisition and substantial rehabilitation of Cumberland Crossing, a 232-unit affordable housing development in Fishers. The project aims to extend Cumberland Crossing’s affordability period for an additional 30 years, with rent restrictions for half of the units at 50% of area median income and the other half at 60%. The development features one, two, and three-bedroom garden-style apartments.
