Festival of Ice and Winter Games 2026

Carmel’s annual winter events, the Festival of Ice and the Carmel Winter Games, were held on January 16-17. The Festival of Ice featured top ice carvers from around the country, with demonstrations and the People’s Choice sculpture competition. The event began on Friday, January 16, in the Carmel Arts & Design District, where carvers created ice masterpieces from 4 – 8 p.m. On Saturday, January 17, the ice carving continued at Carter Green from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., with attendees participating in the People’s Choice sculpture voting from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Upcoming Events in Carmel

Several events are scheduled for the end of January and early February. On Friday, January 30, the Carmel Chamber of Commerce is hosting “The Courage To Create In An Automated World,” a seminar focusing on making music with AI. Additionally, “Dive In Movies at Carmel Mission Inn” will offer free family movies on the same day. On Saturday, January 31, a flower workshop will be held at Earthbound Farm Stand. School News

Carmel Catholic High School has been recognized for its academic and extracurricular achievements. Mrs. Andrea Fitzpatrick received the 2026 Mother Mary Lange Award for High School Leadership, a distinguished honor presented by the Office of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Chicago. The school is also expanding its academic offerings by adding several new Dual Credit and Advanced Placement courses for the 2026-27 school year, bringing the total to over 50 courses offered.
