Chandler Loop 202 closures June 26–29: ADOT detours for Price & Dobson

Chandler drivers planning weekend trips need to adjust their routes: the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is closing an eastbound section of Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) from 10 p.m. Friday, June 26 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 29.

This restriction is focused on a specific segment—between Alma School and Cooper roads—but it also closes connected ramps and on-ramps that many commuters use to get onto eastbound Loop 202.

What closes on Loop 202 this weekend

ADOT says eastbound Loop 202 will be closed between Alma School and Cooper during the full weekend window: June 26 at 10 p.m. through June 29 at 5 a.m.

ADOT also notes these connected closures:

• The southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) ramp to eastbound Loop 202 will be closed.
• The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Price Road and Dobson Road will be closed.

Official detour for getting back onto eastbound Loop 202

To reconnect with eastbound Loop 202, ADOT directs drivers to use Chandler Boulevard plus Pecos Road and Germann Road, then re-enter eastbound Loop 202 at Cooper or Gilbert roads.

Sunday morning/afternoon: westbound off-ramp at Price Road

In addition to the eastbound restrictions, ADOT says the westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Price Road will be closed from 3 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 28.

ADOT’s suggested alternate is to consider using the westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Dobson Road.

Update: McQueen Road exit ramp reopened

Chandler also says the westbound Loop 202 exit ramp at McQueen Road has reopened following reconstruction.

Plan for schedule changes

ADOT cautions that schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. Even with published dates, drivers should expect delays and consider checking for updates before heading out.

For commuters, the practical takeaway is simple: use the Chandler Boulevard / Pecos / Germann detour plan for eastbound trips, and expect extra time—especially if your commute relies on Price or Dobson to reach Loop 202.
