City of Industry Plans Estimated $1.11M Share of Valley Boulevard Project

The City of Industry is expected to contribute an estimated $1.11 million toward a planned reconstruction project covering about 2.5 miles of Valley Boulevard and connected local road segments.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved the next steps on July 21, 2026, authorizing Public Works to enter into a funding cooperative agreement with the City of Industry, advertise the construction project and award a contract after bids are reviewed.

What the project includes

The Avocado Heights San Jose Hills–Valley Boulevard project includes work in the City of Industry as well as the nearby unincorporated communities of Avocado Heights and South San Jose Hills. The project area therefore extends beyond City of Industry boundaries.

Planned improvements include pavement reconstruction, curb and gutter work, medians, sidewalks, driveways, curb ramps, pavement markings, traffic-signal upgrades and handrails. The county documents do not establish specific traffic closures or business disruptions at this stage.

County materials place the anticipated construction contract between $8 million and $12.25 million. The City of Industry’s estimated share is listed at approximately $1.11 million in the board-approved materials.

Next milestone is the bid deadline

The active Los Angeles County Public Works solicitation lists August 18, 2026, as the deadline for contractor bids. That date is a procurement milestone, not the start of construction.

County project documents anticipate construction beginning in June 2027 and continuing through December 2028. That schedule remains a planning estimate and could change as bidding, contract award and construction preparations move forward.

For drivers and businesses in the City of Industry, the project could eventually mean reconstructed pavement, clearer markings and upgraded signals along the project route.
