Shooting at Downtown Concord Parking Garage Injures Three

Concord police are investigating a shooting that occurred at a parking garage on Salvio Street near Todos Santos Plaza. Three male victims were shot and driven to John Muir Medical Center in Concord around 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Authorities identified the suspect vehicle as a Toyota Camry, which was later found in Bay Point. The victims are expected to survive, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the motive. Authorities believe the victims did not know their attackers.

Monument Crisis Center Expands Food Pantry Amid Rising Need

The Monument Crisis Center in Concord has expanded its food pantry to meet the increasing demand for assistance. The center, which serves low-income individuals and households in Central and East Contra Costa County, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new addition on October 9, 2025. The expansion aims to increase the storage capacity for shelf-stable items and enhance food programs, including cooking classes and on-site composting and gardening courses. The center has been a vital resource, helping over 14,500 people in the 2023-24 fiscal year, with 96% of families being extremely low income.
