Cupid Crawl and Amphitheater Activity Highlight Jeffersontown Weekend
Jeffersontown, KY — February 7, 2026 — Cupid Crawl hits the Gaslight District as the city readies its new amphitheater and local groups plan winter events.
Cupid Crawl brings shoppers downtown today
Downtown Jeffersontown will stay busy this afternoon as the inaugural Jtown Cupid Crawl gets underway in the Gaslight District. The passport-style promotion invites residents to stop into participating businesses for sweet treats, small giveaways, and special Valentine deals.
The event runs today from 2 to 6 p.m., with visitors encouraged to pick up a paper passport at any participating shop. After collecting at least three stamps, participants can enter for a Gaslight District prize package that will be awarded next week by the local chamber. Organizers say it is designed to keep foot traffic strong for independent retailers during the winter lull.
New amphitheater steps into the spotlight
Jeffersontown’s long-awaited amphitheater at Veterans Memorial Park is also in the news this winter. Local coverage in January highlighted that the outdoor venue, which can host roughly 1,500 people on the lawn plus about 200 indoors, is moving from construction into regular use.
The city has emphasized that the space is meant for more than concerts. Wedding receptions, reunions, proms, corporate events, and community fundraisers are all being marketed as possibilities. A hospitality management group led by local promoter Joey Wagner is handling bookings and has reported strong interest from couples, schools, and businesses looking for new event space close to the Gaslight District.
City officials have framed the amphitheater as a key piece of Jeffersontown’s “live, work, play” vision, tying park amenities, festivals, and downtown restaurants together. Recent city updates also direct residents to a dedicated Facebook page for show announcements and rental information.
Merchants focus on the Gaslight District
Behind both the Cupid Crawl and the amphitheater push is a growing focus on the Gaslight District as Jeffersontown’s year-round gathering spot. The Jtown Gaslight District Merchants Group, working with the chamber of commerce, continues to cross-promote events, publish restaurant and retail guides, and coordinate specials around signature city festivals.
Business leaders say the goal is simple: make it easy for visitors to park once, stroll Watterson Trail and surrounding streets, and discover local shops, breweries, and eateries. Today’s Valentine-themed crawl is an early-season test of that strategy, giving residents a reason to bundle up, support small businesses, and get an early taste of the bigger festival season still to come.
