Dallas Unveils World Cup Fan Fest Plans, Parade Leadership Shift and Storm Alerts
Dallas, TX – March 10, 2026 – City leaders unveil World Cup fan fest plans as parade organizers regroup and storms linger.
It’s shaping up to be a busy week across Dallas, with major event plans unveiled, parade leadership shifting and weather keeping residents on alert.
World Cup Fan Festival Plans Revealed
Organizers on Monday shared new details about Dallas’ official FIFA World Cup 2026 Fan Festival, set to take over Fair Park for 34 days this summer.
The free, public event will run from June 11 through July 19 on match days, transforming The Pavilion at Fair Park and surrounding lots into a large-scale watch party and entertainment hub. Leaders say the site could host tens of thousands of fans daily, with live match broadcasts, concerts and local food vendors planned.
City and regional officials emphasized that security planning is underway and said the festival is designed to be accessible to both visitors and local families.
New Group to Run St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Dallas’ long-running St. Patrick’s Day Parade is getting new oversight ahead of this year’s festivities.
A newly formed organization will take over management of the annual Greenville Avenue parade, one of the city’s largest spring events. Organizers say the transition is aimed at strengthening operations, fundraising and long-term sustainability.
The parade remains scheduled for later this month, with city leaders working alongside the new group to ensure safety and crowd coordination.
Storm Chances Linger Across North Texas
Meanwhile, unsettled weather continues to move through North Texas.
Recent rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms prompted tornado watches in parts of Dallas County over the weekend. While conditions have improved, forecasters say additional rain and storms are possible this week.
Residents are reminded that Dallas’ outdoor warning sirens activate for tornado warnings, severe thunderstorms with high winds and large hail. Officials encourage people to seek shelter immediately when sirens sound and to rely on trusted weather alerts for updates.
