Two Killed After I-24 Pursuit

Two people are dead after a Tennessee Highway Patrol pursuit ended in a crash on Interstate 24 West near Harding Place Sunday night. Troopers said the incident began as a traffic stop before the driver sped away, leading to a chase that ended in a deadly collision.

The interstate was shut down for hours as investigators reconstructed the scene and crews cleared debris. The crash remains under investigation.

Storm Threat Prompts Outage Preparations

Strong to potentially severe storms are moving across Middle Tennessee this week, and Nashville Electric Service says it is preparing for possible widespread outages.

High winds and heavy rain could bring down trees and power lines. NES is urging residents to charge devices, prepare emergency kits and stay clear of any downed lines. Crews are on standby to respond quickly if outages occur.

Broadway Closure Scheduled

Drivers should plan ahead downtown. Broadway between 16th Avenue South and 18th Avenue South will close from March 12 through March 17 for crane disassembly work. The closure will be in place around the clock.

Transportation officials advise motorists to expect delays and use alternate routes during the project.

Lawmakers Push Park Safety Plan

At the state Capitol, lawmakers are advancing proposed legislation aimed at improving safety in Tennessee parks and greenways. The effort follows the 2024 killing of a woman on a Nashville greenway and would require a coordinated statewide safety strategy.

The proposal calls for updated design standards, lighting, signage and security planning across state and local parks.

New Nissan Stadium Nears Completion

The Tennessee Titans say the new Nissan Stadium is now less than a year from completion. Exterior work is nearing the finish line, and interior buildouts are progressing across multiple levels.

Team officials report thousands of workers are on site daily as construction continues at full speed.
