Denver-area RTD riders: Proposed Sept 2026 service changes end July 8
Denver-area riders: RTD’s proposed Sept. 2026 bus/rail changes—Union Station↔DIA timing, C/D Line shifts, East Colfax lanes—need feedback by July 8.
RTD has published its proposed September 2026 bus and rail service changes for the Denver metro. Customer feedback is due July 8.
How to weigh in before July 8
RTD says feedback on the proposed September service changes will be collected through July 8. You can also attend virtual meetings or use RTD’s online feedback survey.
- Ask a Service Planner 2: Tuesday, June 23 at noon (virtual)
- Public Meeting 1: Monday, June 22, 5:30–6:30 p.m. MDT (Microsoft Teams)
RTD notes these are proposals, with flexibility for future evaluation and adjustment after customer input.
Union Station ↔ DIA: proposed frequency/spans change early in the day
For Union Station–Denver Airport, RTD proposes schedule timing updates that would adjust frequency as follows:
- 3 a.m. to 6 a.m.: 30-minute frequency
- 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.: 15-minute frequency
- 7:30 p.m. to end of service: 30-minute frequency
RTD says the schedule-timing proposal would result in the loss of (2) daily morning trips.
Light rail tied to the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project: C returns, D ends (proposed)
RTD’s proposal for the light-rail network tied to the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project includes:
- C Line: RTD proposes to permanently reinstate the C Line once the project is complete.
- D Line: RTD proposes to permanently discontinue the D Line, which RTD says is currently not operating due to the project.
RTD says the permanent reinstatement of the C Line would support transfers to the Downtown Loop via I-25•Broadway, Alameda, and 10th•Osage stations.
Buses: East Colfax dedicated lanes + changes for Decatur•Federal connections
East Colfax Avenue (Route 15 in RTD’s proposal dashboard)
RTD proposes dedicated lane operations along Colfax Avenue between Broadway and Colorado Blvd. The proposal also includes discontinuing the western segment of the route that serves Decatur•Federal Station, tied to the progression of the East Colfax Bus Rapid Transit project.
Decatur•Federal: Route 10 reroute (as described by RTD)
RTD proposes rerouting Route 10 (East 12th Avenue) so that Decatur•Federal Station becomes its western terminal, routing via Auraria Pkwy., West Colfax Ave., and Federal Blvd.
Next steps for riders
