Easton receives $5.5 million in state awards for mixed-use project and community center
Easton is set to receive $5.5 million in Pennsylvania capital awards for a mixed-use development and a planned community-services center, giving two local projects significant outside funding but not yet establishing construction or completion dates.
The Shapiro administration announced the awards July 16, 2026, as part of more than $109.3 million distributed through the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program for 68 projects across Pennsylvania.
Two Easton projects receive state backing
The Foundry at Easton was awarded $500,000. The project is described as a mixed-use development with residential, commercial and parking components. The announcement does not specify how many homes, businesses or parking spaces the project would include.
The Greater Community Empowerment Center in Easton was awarded $5 million. The planned facility is expected to include a gymnasium, a health and wellness area, a child-care facility, a counseling center and classrooms for job training.
A Pennsylvania House Northeast Delegation release said the center is intended to address mental-health needs and expand employment-support opportunities. The source packet identifies at least six planned service or facility components when the broader community facility is counted alongside the gymnasium, health and wellness area, child care, counseling and job-training classrooms.
What the awards could mean locally
The projects could bring construction activity and additional investment tied to housing, commercial development, health services, child care, counseling and workforce services.
