Riverside Countyโs coroner identified Roman McClain, 21, of Victorville, as the person killed in an Oct. 17 shooting in Eastvale that left six other people injured. The coroner record was posted Oct. 19.
The Sheriffโs Office said deputies responded at 11:13 p.m. to the 7000 block of Morning Hills Drive after a report of unknown trouble and a possible shooting. They found seven people with traumatic injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene; the other six were taken to hospitals.
The coronerโs record lists Oct. 17 as McClainโs date of death. The Sheriffโs Office had initially withheld his name pending notification of next of kin and said its Central Homicide Unit took over the investigation.
As of Oct. 20, no arrests had been made, according to a Sheriffโs Department spokesperson quoted by MyNewsLA. The report said investigators had not immediately identified suspects. ABC7 reported that day that authorities had not released a motive. The Sheriffโs Office described the investigation as ongoing.
