Fatal crash on Biesterfield Road. Police say a driver appeared to be unconscious before a single-vehicle crash on Biesterfield Road just east of Meacham Road. The collision happened around 11:52 a.m. Tuesday, when the vehicle crossed into the westbound lanes and struck a fire hydrant. The driver, identified by the Cook County medical examiner as 51-year-old Paul Klein of Schaumburg, was taken to a nearby hospital and was later pronounced dead. Authorities said autopsy results are pending.
