Fishers Police Investigate Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins
Fishers, IN — February 3, 2026 — Fishers Police are actively investigating a series of vehicle break-ins that occurred over the weekend, affecting numerous residents across various neighborhoods. The incidents involved thieves smashing windows and stealing items from parked cars.
Details of the Incidents
Surveillance footage captured the moment thieves broke into vehicles in one neighborhood. A resident, Scott, shared his frustration: “It really pisses you off because they didn’t take anything. We don’t have anything in our car, but they cost $800 to fix the window.” He noted that multiple cars on his street were targeted.
Police reported over 50 such incidents, with Sgt. Angela Ellison stating, “We had dozens of reports of thefts from vehicles in a couple of our neighborhoods. Typically in the past, they’ve been unlocked doors, and this time their windows were smashed.” The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to tally the number of victims and stolen items.
Community Response
Residents are encouraged to review their home security footage and report any suspicious activity to assist in the investigation. Consuela Brooks, another resident, expressed concern over the potential escalation of these crimes: “We’ve never seen anything like this. It could have been ugly. Somebody could have been hit. That’s the scary part about it.”
Anyone with information or surveillance video is asked to contact Fishers Police by emailing fisherspd@fishersin.gov.
Safety Measures
In response to these incidents, Fishers Police are reminding residents to secure their vehicles and report any suspicious activity promptly. The department is also considering increased patrols in affected neighborhoods to deter further criminal activity.
