Fontana Focus: Spring Job Fair, City Hall Renovation Updates Lead Local Agenda
Fontana, CA – April 1, 2026 – Workforce hiring efforts and City Hall renovations top the city’s economic and infrastructure updates this week.
Fontana’s focus this week centers on workforce development and ongoing city infrastructure upgrades, with hiring events and public facility renovations drawing attention.
Spring Job Fair Highlights Workforce Push
A late-March job fair organized in partnership with the Fontana Chamber brought employers and job seekers together at Fontana Park. The event emphasized logistics, warehousing, healthcare and municipal services — sectors that continue to anchor the city’s employment base.
City leaders have consistently pointed to workforce access as a priority, especially as distribution, manufacturing and small business sectors expand across the Inland Empire. Hiring events like this are designed to connect residents directly with recruiters while keeping local talent in the community.
City Hall Renovation Continues
Meanwhile, public meetings remain temporarily relocated as construction continues on renovations to City Hall. The upgrades are intended to modernize facilities, improve service counters and enhance long-term operational efficiency.
Officials have said the improvements will create more accessible public spaces and streamline how residents interact with city departments. City Council, Planning Commission and other public bodies are continuing to meet at the alternate Steelworkers’ Auditorium location during construction.
District Elections Framework Remains in Place
Fontana continues operating under its district-based City Council system adopted following the 2020 Census. The structure divides the city into four council districts, with the mayor elected at large. The system is designed to ensure geographic representation as the city grows.
With Fontana’s population and commercial base expanding steadily, city officials have emphasized transparency in public meetings and outreach as key components of governance and economic planning.
