Fort Wayne council sets Aug. 11 vote on homeless resource center

Fort Wayne City Council is expected to revisit Mayor Sharon Tucker’s proposal to use $2.75 million for a downtown homeless resource center at its Aug. 11, 2026, meeting.

On July 14, the city reported that it had responded to public questions and comments and that draft operations and security plans would be provided to council members. A July 15 report from Wayne FM/Adams News said the city had addressed more than 500 questions and comments and that the proposal would return to the Aug. 11 council meeting.

That timeline leaves the August meeting as the next known decision point in the city’s review of the project.
