Four Teens Shot, Medical Tourism Grows, and Injury Crashes Snarl Traffic
Orlando, FL – March 21, 2026 – Four teens were hurt in a restaurant shooting as city leaders track rising medical tourism and multiple injury crashes.
Orlando is heading into the weekend with a mix of serious public safety concerns and longer-term growth stories shaping the conversation.
Four Teens Hurt in Restaurant Shooting
Police are investigating after four teenagers were injured in a shooting inside a popular soul food restaurant in Orlando. Officers responded quickly and transported the victims to nearby hospitals. Their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
Investigators are still working to determine what led up to the gunfire and whether the teens were targeted. The incident has rattled the surrounding neighborhood and renewed calls for stronger safety measures in busy nightlife corridors.
Gunfire Strikes Parramore Home
In a separate incident, gunfire tore through a home and nearby vehicles in the Parramore neighborhood. One woman narrowly escaped injury when a bullet passed through her hair bun, according to authorities.
Police say four juveniles were wounded in that shooting. Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward as they piece together what happened.
Injury Crashes Slow SR 408, South Orlando
Traffic was also disrupted this week after an injury crash along State Road 408 West near Crystal Lake. Emergency crews responded during peak travel hours, leading to delays for commuters.
Another two-car crash with injuries was reported at Delaine Avenue and Hansel Avenue in south Orlando. Officials have not released the extent of those injuries but confirmed both incidents remain under investigation.
Orlando’s Medical Tourism Boom
Beyond the crime and traffic headlines, a broader trend is gaining attention: Orlando’s emergence as a medical tourism destination. Health care providers say more visitors are combining treatment with extended stays, drawn by the region’s hospital systems and hospitality infrastructure.
City leaders see the growth as an economic opportunity, though it also brings added demand on transportation and services.
As investigations continue and the city prepares for a busy spring break stretch, public safety and smart growth remain top of mind across Orlando.
