Orlando commuters: SR 408 Exit 10B overnight closure July 19–23 for I-4
SR 408 eastbound to I-4 eastbound via Exit 10B closes overnight July 19–23, 8 p.m.–6 a.m., with posted detours. I-4 ramp work also runs July 12–16.
Orlando-area drivers heading eastbound on SR 408 toward eastbound I-4 via the Exit 10B loop-ramp connection should plan for overnight closures starting Sunday, July 19. FDOT-linked work will close that specific ramp connection each night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday, July 23, with posted detour directions for affected drivers.
Quick schedule: SR 408 Exit 10B closure (overnight)
- When: Sunday, July 19 through Thursday, July 23, 2026
- Hours: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. (overnight)
- What’s closing: the eastbound SR 408 exit ramp to eastbound I-4 at Exit 10B
- Why: FDOT says the overnight closures are needed for striping
Posted detour for SR 408 eastbound drivers trying to reach I-4 eastbound
CFLroads’ project page directs motorists to follow this posted route during the Exit 10B ramp closures:
- Take Exit 10A toward westbound I-4
- Continue to Exit 81 (Michigan Street)
- Turn left onto West Michigan Street
- Follow posted signage to access eastbound I-4
Because construction traffic shifts can change nearby routes night to night, treat the posted detour signage near the interchange area as the final guidance.
Earlier overlap in the same broader corridor: I-4 ramp restrictions July 12–16
Even before the Exit 10B week begins, Moving I-4 Forward lists nightly restrictions in the SR 429-to-I-4 area that can affect commute patterns:
- July 12–16: the on-ramps to I-4 eastbound and I-4 westbound from S.R. 429 southbound are closed nightly 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
- July 14–16: I-4 westbound off-ramp to S.R. 429 northbound, and S.R. 429 southbound off-ramp to I-4 westbound, are closed nightly 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Broader SR 408-area street work context (City of Orlando)
Separately from the FDOT Exit 10B overnight ramp closures, the City of Orlando’s SR 408 improvement road-closure page also lists a longer street-level impact nearby: a full road closure for Carter Street from Tampa Avenue to US 441/Orange Blossom Trail (including the Rio Grande Avenue intersection), beginning Monday, June 8 at 7 a.m. and ending Monday, July 27 at 7 a.m. The City also notes that access from the eastbound SR 408 off-ramp to US 441/Orange Blossom Trail will be maintained.
What to check before you leave
- For the Exit 10B nightly window and the posted detour: check the CFLroads project page before driving.
- For the July 12–16 I-4 ramp restrictions in the SR 429 area: review Moving I-4 Forward construction updates.
- For nearby street-level disruption during the wider SR 408 improvement window: check the City of Orlando SR 408 road-closure listing.
- For other real-time congestion or incident impacts: use WFTV traffic as a live corroboration layer.
