Goose Creek’s Amy Drive resurfacing is scheduled through Aug. 3
Berkeley County has scheduled driveway resurfacing on Amy Drive in Goose Creek through Monday, Aug. 3. The listed work hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The county’s scheduled-road-work dashboard lists TruLuck Roadway Services LLC as the contractor. The notice identifies the project as driveway resurfacing on a previously paved road, not a full reconstruction or planned closure of Amy Drive.
What residents should expect
Roads are expected to remain open to traffic while the work is underway. Residents may still experience short delays when entering or leaving a freshly paved driveway.
Berkeley County advises residents to allow about 15 minutes for driveway access during paving operations. People leaving for work, school, appointments or errands should plan extra time during the daytime work window and follow directions from the paving crew.
The county notice does not say that every driveway on Amy Drive will be resurfaced. It lists Amy Drive as one location in the county’s driveway-resurfacing schedule.
Weather and heat could change the schedule
The July 27 through Aug. 3 window is a current schedule, not a guarantee that work will occur every day or finish by Aug. 3. Berkeley County says timing may change because of weather or paving conditions.
The county specifically lists temperatures of 90 degrees Fahrenheit or higher as a condition that could affect the work schedule. Rain and other weather conditions may also delay or rearrange the work.
Residents should check Berkeley County’s scheduled-road-work dashboard for updates before making plans around daytime driveway access.
