Green Bay Gas Tops $4 as Diesel Holds Above $5 in Aug. 1 AAA Check

Regular gasoline in the Green Bay metro is averaging $4.014 per gallon, while diesel is averaging $5.013, according to AAA’s price check for Aug. 1, 2026. Both fuels edged higher from the previous day, but their longer-term increases remain the more significant trend for local drivers and businesses.

Regular gas is up nearly $1.10 from a year ago

AAA lists Green Bay regular gasoline at 0.7 cents above the previous day, 8.2 cents above the previous week, 33.5 cents above the previous month and $1.091 above the same period last year.

That puts the local metro average just over $4 per gallon. The figure is an average across the Green Bay metro, not the price at every station. Drivers may see higher or lower prices depending on the neighborhood, brand and timing of a fill-up.

Diesel remains above $5

AAA lists the current Green Bay diesel average at $5.013 per gallon, up 0.1 cent from the previous day, 10.9 cents from the previous week, 38.4 cents from the previous month and $1.461 from a year ago.

Those costs are especially relevant to freight carriers, contractors, delivery operators, farmers and service businesses that use commercial vehicles. Higher diesel expenses can add pressure to delivery routes, equipment operation and service calls, although the local price data does not establish how individual businesses are responding.

Green Bay is below the national regular-gas average

AAA’s Aug. 1 figures put the Wisconsin regular-gas average at $3.974 and the national average at $4.101. The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s latest weekly data, released July 28 and covering July 27, placed the Midwest regional gasoline average at $3.882 per gallon. That broader figure is useful context, but it does not replace the Green Bay metro measurement.
