Hanford seeks Harvest Creek EIR comments by Aug. 12
Hanford is accepting public comments through Aug. 12, 2026, on the environmental review for the proposed Harvest Creek Residential Project, an early public step for a housing proposal that has not been approved in the city material.
The City of Hanford issued a Notice of Preparation on July 8 and is serving as the lead agency for the project’s Environmental Impact Report, or EIR. The city is asking for comments on the scope and content of that report before the analysis is completed.

Scoping process is underway
Hanford’s Notice of Preparation period began July 8, 2026. The city held a virtual scoping session on July 22 as part of that process, and its current project notice lists Aug. 12, 2026, as the comment deadline.
The scoping stage concerns the framework for the EIR. The city has requested input on what the document should cover, rather than announcing conclusions about the proposal’s environmental effects.
