Highway work near Dickeyville enters its scheduled July 2026 completion window
Highway rehabilitation serving Dickeyville is scheduled to continue through July 2026, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s official project information. The work includes the Kieler-to-Dickeyville segment of US 61, US 151 and WIS 11 in Grant County.
WisDOT says the project is intended to address deteriorated pavement and maintain connectivity along the highway route. The posted construction schedule is listed as “August 18 – July 2026.” The project page does not clearly identify the year for the August start date, but its 2026 context indicates the work is part of the 2026 construction season.
What the work means locally
The route is an important connection for people traveling to and from Dickeyville, including residents commuting to Platteville and Dubuque. The Village of Dickeyville identifies itself as a Grant County community of about 1,100 residents and says many residents make those commutes.
That makes pavement conditions and the construction schedule relevant to daily travel, freight movement and access through the area. However, the available project information does not provide a current lane-closure or traffic-control update. It should not be read as confirmation of a specific closure or delay.
WisDOT’s project page identifies the work as part of the broader US 61/US 151/WIS 11 corridor extending from the Mississippi River to County HH. The agency specifically names the Kieler-to-Dickeyville segment and places it in Grant County.
A separate project is planned for the corridor
State transportation planning also lists a separate US 151 project between Dickeyville and Belmont. The 2023-2026 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program identifies the project as 1202-00-63 and lists a planned contract-letting date of Dec. 8, 2026.
The STIP gives that project an estimated cost range of $10 million to $10.999 million. That is a planning estimate for the listed project entry, not a statement that the entire amount would be spent within Dickeyville.
The December date is a planned letting date, not proof that a contract will be awarded or that construction will begin on schedule. The immediate Kieler-to-Dickeyville work remains the project with a posted construction window through July 2026, while the Dickeyville-to-Belmont project represents a possible later phase of transportation investment along US 151.
