Jefferson County plans multiple Conifer-area park improvements beginning in 2026

Jefferson County plans a package of improvements at two Conifer-area parks beginning in spring or fall 2026, changing how visitors access, park at and move through Beaver Ranch Park and Reynolds Park.

The work announced by Jefferson County Parks & Open Space includes a realigned main entrance at Beaver Ranch Park connected to Foxton Road, improvements to the park entrance road and more than 100 upgraded parking spaces across two lots. The county also plans to realign the Casto Creek Trail for safety and add two vault restrooms near key activity areas.

Changes at Beaver Ranch Park

The Beaver Ranch work is centered on access and circulation. The realigned entrance will connect to Foxton Road, while improvements to the entrance road are intended to update the way vehicles enter the park. Parking upgrades will be spread across two lots and add capacity or improve existing spaces, with the county describing the total as more than 100 upgraded parking spaces.

Trail users will also see a planned change. Jefferson County says the Casto Creek Trail will be realigned for safety. The project announcement does not identify the precise new route or describe how long trail work may affect visitors.

Two new vault restrooms are planned near key activity areas. Their addition would increase restroom availability within the park, although the county has not provided a detailed construction schedule for those facilities.

Forest work at Reynolds Park

At Reynolds Park, wildfire-fuel-reduction planning is being informed by mountain pine beetle activity. The U.S. Forest Service identified more than 100 acres of that activity within the park, according to the county’s announcement.

Mountain pine beetle activity and an active wildfire are not the same condition. In this case, the county is using the documented forest condition to inform planned fuel-reduction work intended to address wildfire-preparedness needs at the park.

The county identifies the work as beginning in spring or fall 2026, but it has not released precise construction dates, a total project cost, a contractor or expected closures. The announcement also does not establish that every improvement will be completed during 2026.
