Douglas Countyโs Oct. 23 update says Pine Drive between Ponderosa Drive and Lincoln Avenue could close as soon as Monday, Oct. 26, for storm-sewer installation. The closure was still planned, not confirmed to have begun, as of that update. The county lists Ponderosa Drive, Colorado Highway 83/South Parker Road and Lincoln Avenue as the detour.
The county says local and business access, including to Sierra Middle School and AdventHealth Parker, will remain open. The closed Pine Drive segment is also to reopen on Sundays while the closure is in place.
How long will the closure last? The countyโs Oct. 23 project update estimates approximately two weeks; its Oct. 20 County Manager Report estimates approximately one week. Neither gives a firm reopening date. Separately, Pine Lane between Pine and Dixon drives is restricted to westbound traffic, with eastbound traffic detoured. The Oct. 20 report says that restriction is expected to remain for a couple of months once the Pine Drive closure is in place.
The work is part of the countyโs $13.2 million Pine Drive/Pine Lane project, which is anticipated to finish at the end of July 2027. That is the larger projectโs timeline, not the Pine Drive closureโs.
