Fatal Apartment Fire Claims 85-Year-Old Woman’s Life

On January 27, 2026, a tragic fire erupted in a Jersey City apartment building on College Drive. The blaze began on the fifth floor of the five-story structure, leading to heavy smoke and emergency response. Firefighters discovered 85-year-old Maxine Sullivan unresponsive in her unit. Despite immediate medical attention, she was pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center. The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Jersey City Fire Department are investigating the incident, which does not appear suspicious at this time.

Two-Car Crash on NJ Turnpike Results in Injuries and Traffic Delays

On January 28, 2025, a two-car collision occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike near Interchange 14A – NJ 440/Bayonne Bridge.
