Johnsonburg Municipal Authority seeks bids for Community Center sewer rehabilitation

The Johnsonburg Municipal Authority posted a solicitation July 10, 2026, for rehabilitation of sanitary sewer infrastructure serving the Johnsonburg Community Center.

The project, titled Center Street Sewer Rehabilitation for Community Center, is identified as Contract 2026-WW1. The work is planned for Center Street in the Borough of Johnsonburg, Elk County.

Planned sewer work

The bid package calls for replacing 107 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer pipe. It also includes installation of a new 48-inch-diameter sanitary manhole.

The construction specifications include bypass pumping while the sewer work is performed. Bypass pumping is used to manage flows during work on an active sewer system, although the solicitation does not describe a current sewer failure or specify how service would be handled for individual properties.

Contract requirements also include erosion and sediment controls, followed by seeding, mulching and asphalt restoration where construction disturbs the site. Those provisions could mean temporary construction activity and later surface restoration in the Center Street area.

The project is intended to improve sewer service at the Johnsonburg Community Center. The Johnsonburg Municipal Authority is the municipal entity responsible for the local sewer project.
