PennDOT begins $2.29 million paving and drainage project on Reynoldsville-Falls Creek Road

Drivers using Reynoldsville-Falls Creek Road should expect alternating, single-lane traffic while the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation carries out a $2.29 million construction project on Route 950.

The work began June 22, 2026, on the section between Route 322 and Route 830. PennDOT’s announced traffic restriction is scheduled to remain in place through Sept. 18, generally with flaggers operating from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The traffic plan keeps one lane open under flagger control rather than closing the roadway. Residents, commuters, freight operators and local businesses should allow additional time when traveling through the work zone, follow flaggers and watch for posted signs.

Project covers three local jurisdictions

The announced work limits include portions of Reynoldsville Borough, Falls Creek Borough and Winslow Township in Jefferson County. The project begins at Route 322 in Reynoldsville and extends along Route 950, also known as Reynoldsville-Falls Creek Road, toward Route 830.

That means traffic impacts will extend beyond a single borough as crews work along the route. Route 950 provides a local connection through the Reynoldsville and Falls Creek area, making the lane restriction relevant to people traveling between the two numbered routes as well as nearby residents and businesses.

Paving, drainage and safety work

PennDOT said the project includes roadway patching and paving, drainage improvements and guiderail updates. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College is the contractor.

The $2.29 million project combines pavement work with improvements to roadside drainage and guiderails. PennDOT estimates that the overall project will be completed in September 2026. The department’s traffic notice gives Sept. 18 as the end of the announced restriction period, while the broader completion estimate identifies only the month.

Work schedules and traffic conditions can change as construction progresses. Drivers should use caution near crews and be prepared to stop when directed by flaggers.
