Kenosha County gas jumps 11.5 cents; diesel rises 18.3 cents weekly

Regular gasoline and diesel both moved higher in the latest AAA price check for Kenosha County. On July 31, AAA listed the county average at $3.929 per gallon for regular gasoline and $5.131 for diesel.

Regular gas made the sharper one-day move, while diesel posted the larger increase over the past week. The AAA figures are county averages, not the price at every station in Kenosha. Actual pump prices can vary by location, fuel grade, discounts, payment method and timing.

Regular gas rose 11.5 cents in one day

AAA’s Kenosha County regular-gas average was up 11.5 cents from the previous day’s $3.814. It was also 10.6 cents higher than a week earlier, when the average was $3.823.

The longer comparisons show a broader increase. Regular gas was up 38.9 cents from a month earlier and 97.9 cents from a year earlier. At just under $3.93 per gallon, the county average gives commuters and households a useful benchmark for repeated driving, errands and weekend travel.

Diesel topped $5.13 per gallon

Diesel averaged $5.131 per gallon in the July 31 AAA check, up 1.2 cents from the previous day’s $5.119.

The more notable diesel change came over the week. The county average was 18.3 cents higher than a week earlier, when it stood at $4.948. Diesel was also up 9.6 cents from a month earlier and $1.594 from a year earlier.

That increase matters especially for trucking and delivery operators, contractors, farms, construction companies and other employers that rely on diesel-powered vehicles or equipment.

National figures provide broader context

The U.S. Energy Information Administration‘s July 28 update listed July 27 national averages of $4.096 per gallon for regular gasoline and $5.313 for on-highway diesel. Those are national figures, not Kenosha prices.

On that dated comparison, the Kenosha County AAA average was about 16.7 cents below the national regular-gas average and about 18.2 cents below the national diesel average. Because the figures come from different dates and represent different geographic areas, they should be treated as general context rather than a same-day station comparison.

What higher fuel costs could mean locally

For households, higher fuel prices can raise the cost of commuting, errands, appointments and summer travel. Businesses with frequent routes may feel the effect sooner, including delivery operators, service companies, contractors and restaurants that depend on transportation.

Higher diesel prices can also add pressure to freight, construction and agricultural operations. Weekend travelers and organizers of local events may want to account for fuel costs when planning longer trips or moving equipment and supplies.
