Knoxville voters face final day of early voting before Aug. 6 county election

Saturday, August 1, is the final day for registered Knox County voters to cast ballots early in the Aug. 6 county general and federal and state primary election. Early-voting locations are open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the final day.

Registered Knox County voters may use any listed county early-voting location during the early-voting period. The official Tennessee voter lookup lists 10 sites, including locations across Knoxville, Farragut Community Center and Gibbs Ruritan Club in Corryton.

All 10 sites are listed as open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, August 1. Voters should check the official listing before leaving for any last-minute updates.

What is on the Aug. 6 ballot

The Knox County general ballot includes offices such as county mayor, sheriff, trustee, county clerk, circuit court clerk, criminal court clerk, register of deeds, county commission seats, judicial offices and Board of Education seats in Districts 1, 4, 6, 7 and 9.

Farragut voters may also see nonpartisan races for town mayor and alderman in Wards 1 and 2. The federal and state primary ballots include contests for governor, U.S. Senate, the 2nd Congressional District, selected Tennessee Senate and House districts, and state executive committee positions.

The contests shown on an individual ballot depend on the voter’s district and, for the primary contests, party selection. Voters should verify their own ballot rather than assume every Knox County resident will see the same races.

Election Day rules are different

Election Day is Thursday, August 6. Voters who wait until Election Day must vote at their assigned precinct; they cannot choose any early-voting location.

Before going, voters should use official election resources to verify their registration record, assigned Election Day polling place and ballot details. The Tennessee voter lookup provides registration and election information, while the official early-voting page lists the locations and hours for Saturday.

For voters who have not yet participated, the immediate deadline is 3 p.m. Saturday at one of the listed early-voting locations. After early voting ends, voting shifts to assigned precincts on August 6.
