Lincoln County lists 650-home Iron Station development as still pending after Aug. 3 hearing

Lincoln County continues to list Old Plank Holdco LLC’s proposed Irongate development as pending after an Aug. 3, 2026, hearing. The rezoning request, identified as PD #2026-2, covers about 507 acres near Brevard Place Road and Old Plank Road in Ironton Township, in the Iron Station area.

The application seeks Planned Development-Residential zoning and a seven-year vesting period. The county’s pending-applications page describes up to 309 single-family homes under a conservation option and up to 309 age-restricted homes under a senior-housing option. A separate county development summary describes 650 proposed lots: 341 conservation lots and 309 senior-housing lots.

The county record does not state whether the request was approved, rejected or deferred. It also does not identify a later decision date. A traffic study modeled a different project version with 596 homes, phased as 250 homes in 2028, 103 in 2030 and 243 in 2031. Developers have described proposed road upgrades, water-line extensions, a private sewer system and other traffic improvements. Residents have raised concerns about traffic, schools, utilities, emergency services, wildlife and the area’s rural character. The project’s final size, conditions and construction schedule remain unsettled.
