Maryland PSC Completes Review of Takoma Park Electrical Incidents
The Maryland Public Service Commission’s Consumer Affairs Division has completed its review of a complaint filed by the City of Takoma Park over 2025 electrical power-supply incidents, according to a city notice reported in late July or early August 2026. The incidents affected city facilities and nearby residents in Takoma Park.
The complaint placed the matter before the commission’s consumer-affairs unit after electrical-supply problems affected both municipal facilities and people living nearby. The city’s notice identifies the completed review as the latest publicly reported action in the matter. It does not say that the commission found a utility at fault, and completion of the review is not itself an announcement of penalties or other corrective measures.
The notice does not disclose the review’s findings, name the utility involved or describe any remedy. It also does not announce a further procedural step, such as a new proceeding or an order. For now, residents and city officials have confirmation that the state review is complete, but no public conclusion about what caused the 2025 incidents or what action, if any, will follow. Any next step would have to be announced by the commission or the city.
