Mayor’s Update Planned as Fire Department Marks New Equipment Gains

Village Update Coming This Month

Hoffman Estates residents will soon get a detailed look at where the village stands and what lies ahead. Mayor Bill McLeod is scheduled to deliver his annual community update later this month during a public breakfast event at the NOW Arena.

The presentation is expected to review key developments from 2025 and outline priorities for 2026, including infrastructure, economic development, and community services. Village staff will also be available to answer questions and share updates on current projects.

Organizers say the event is designed to be informal and accessible, giving residents a chance to hear directly from village leadership and connect with local officials in one place.

Fire Department Highlights New Equipment

The Hoffman Estates Fire Department is also marking progress this winter after completing the purchase of new cardiac monitoring equipment. The upgrades were made possible through a federal grant aimed at improving emergency response and patient care.

Fire officials say the monitors enhance paramedics’ ability to assess heart conditions more quickly and accurately in the field, helping guide treatment decisions before patients reach the hospital. The department responds to thousands of calls each year, with medical emergencies making up a large share of those runs.

Village leaders praised the grant effort, noting that outside funding helps keep local services modern while easing pressure on the municipal budget.

As colder weather continues, residents are also being reminded to help keep fire hydrants clear of snow and ice. Clear access can save valuable time during emergencies and is one of the simplest ways neighbors can support first responders.
