Winter Road Conditions Improve

Affordable Housing Grant Approved
The Medford City Council has approved a multi-million-dollar state grant aimed at converting underused buildings into affordable housing. The funding is expected to support the creation of dozens of new units for residents earning up to 120 percent of the area median income.
City leaders say the program also encourages lower-carbon construction methods and helps address Medford’s ongoing housing shortage. The units created through the grant cannot be used as short-term rentals.
Main Street Bike Lanes to Be Removed
The City Council has voted to remove the protected bike lanes on Main Street, reversing a redesign completed just three years ago. The decision follows ongoing concerns from residents and business owners about traffic flow and parking impacts.
City staff will now work on plans to return Main Street to a more traditional layout while evaluating future safety improvements for cyclists elsewhere in the city.
