Mesquite-Area Gas Falls to $3.592; Diesel Eases to $5.133

Regular gasoline and diesel both became cheaper in the latest Dallas-area price check serving Mesquite, but the gap between the two fuels remains wide. AAA listed the July 31, 2026, Dallas metro average at $3.592 per gallon for regular gasoline and $5.133 for diesel.
Compared with AAA’s July 30 check, regular gasoline fell 2.7 cents per gallon. Diesel declined 2.5 cents. The separate movements matter because most commuters and households buy gasoline, while contractors, delivery operators, service companies and other fuel-intensive businesses often depend more heavily on diesel.
Mesquite pump prices can vary by station
A Mesquite station listing updated July 30 showed regular gasoline at $3.59 per gallon at Swift. That figure provides local pump context and is close to the Dallas metro average, but it is an individual station price—not a citywide Mesquite average.
Station prices can differ based on location, competition, fuel supply and timing. Drivers comparing prices in Mesquite should check the posted price at the station they plan to use rather than assume the metro average will match every pump.
Diesel remains the bigger cost pressure
Even after its daily decline, diesel was about $1.54 per gallon more expensive than regular gasoline in AAA’s July 31 figures. That difference can matter for operators that travel many miles or use larger vehicles, including construction contractors, landscapers, delivery fleets, repair businesses and other local service companies.
For households, the latest decrease may modestly reduce the cost of commuting, errands and weekend travel. For businesses, however, lower prices do not necessarily eliminate fuel-related pressure. Diesel-dependent operators may still need to account for higher per-gallon costs when pricing deliveries, service calls, construction work or other jobs.
The Dallas metro comparison also shows that the two fuels are moving from different positions. Regular gasoline at $3.592 was below the previous week’s $3.753 average, while diesel at $5.133 remained above its previous week’s $4.970 average. The latest one-day easing therefore does not mean both fuels have returned to the same trend line.
