Moore to Close Southwest Fourth Street for Two-Week Repair
A section of Southwest Fourth Street in Moore is scheduled to close Aug. 10 while Silver Star Construction repairs a drainage structure and replaces concrete street panels.
The City of Moore says the work is expected to take about two weeks, weather permitting. The city has not announced an exact reopening date, so drivers should plan for the closure to continue until construction and weather conditions allow the work to be completed.
Drivers have two listed detours
Moore directs drivers to travel east toward Telephone Road or west toward Max Morgan Boulevard while the affected section of Southwest Fourth Street is closed.
The closure affects a local route used by residents and other drivers beginning Aug. 10. The project combines drainage work with pavement repairs, rather than being described as a full reconstruction of the street.
Other Fourth Street work is separate
The cityโs broader Fourth Street infrastructure information covers a separate railroad-underpass project. Construction on that project paused June 10, 2026, while an Oklahoma Natural Gas line was relocated. The city says voters approved $27.9 million in general-obligation bonds for the underpass project in 2018.
That underpass work is distinct from the drainage and concrete repair planned for Southwest Fourth Street. Mooreโs citywide projects listing identifies the current repair, the contractor and the alternate routes.
City schedule continues during repair
Mooreโs meetings and notices page lists a City Council, Moore Public Works Authority, Moore Redevelopment and Main Street Board, and Moore Economic Development Authority meeting for Aug. 17, during the expected repair period.
The city-owned property at 800 SW 4th Street is separately identified by Moore as a site used for excess dirt storage. The city project listing does not state a contract value for the Southwest Fourth Street repair.
