Orlando housing plan comment period runs through July 6
Orlando residents can review the draft 2026 housing plan and speak at a July 6 hearing before the city finalizes HUD-funded priorities.
Orlando is taking public comments on its draft 2026 Annual Action Plan and 2026-2030 Consolidated Plan through Monday, July 6, 2026. A second public hearing is set for 5 p.m. that day at the Beardall Senior Center, 800 Delaney Avenue, Orlando.
What the draft would fund
The city says the plan would direct $10,054,688 in 2026 housing and community-development funds, plus program income and carryover. The proposal includes CDBG, HOME, ESG and HOPWA money, with uses ranging from affordable housing and rehabilitation to homelessness prevention, shelter operations and supportive services.
That matters for renters, homeowners, service providers and neighborhood groups because the plan helps set city priorities before the money is locked in. Orlando says the draft is meant to guide federal HUD funds toward affordable housing development and preservation, public services, infrastructure work and other eligible needs.
How to weigh in
The city says written comments can be submitted through July 6 to its Housing and Community Development Department at City Hall, P.O. Box 4990, Orlando, FL 32802-4990, or by email to andres.burgos@orlando.gov. Draft documents are also available for review online.
This is still a draft, not a final spending decision. After the hearing, Orlando can move toward finalizing the annual spending plan for program year 2026.
