Paterson Public Schools Achieve Notable Gains in State Assessments
Paterson Public Schools have reported significant improvements in the 2024–2025 New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA). The district’s 11th-grade students achieved an 8% increase in Mathematics and a 7% increase in English Language Arts (ELA) proficiency, surpassing the state’s gains of 3% in Math and a 1% decrease in ELA. These results highlight the district’s commitment to enhancing educational outcomes for its students.
Upcoming Community Events in Paterson
Paterson residents can look forward to several community events in the coming weeks. The Literacy Link program, which pairs elementary students with teen volunteers to foster reading comprehension and writing skills, is scheduled for February 2 at 3:30 pm. Additionally, the After School Literacy Program offers homework and literacy assistance for registered students in grades 2–6 on February 3 at 3:30 pm.
