PennDOT opens Route 772 bridge plans near Mount Joy; comments due June 26
PennDOT has opened a virtual plans display and public comment period for a bridge maintenance project on Route 772 (Mount Joy Road) over Route 283 in Rapho Township, about two miles northeast of Mount Joy. The plans are available now, and residents can submit questions and comments through June 26, 2026.

What PennDOT says it will do
PennDOT says the purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the existing bridge and keep it safe for traffic. Planned work includes concrete repairs and patching to bridge piers and beam ends.
What drivers should expect later
PennDOT says short-term and long-term traffic control is expected on Route 283 during the work, but the agency also says there will be no reduction in the number of lanes.
The project is still in design. PennDOT lists construction as anticipated during the 2027 construction season, with a proposed start in spring 2027 and a proposed end in fall 2027.
Project cost and other notes
PennDOT lists the estimated construction cost at $400,000. The project materials also note coordination for the Indiana bat.
