The reopening keeps a family-friendly anchor in place at the mall for now. At the same time, the possibility of a billion-dollar sports and entertainment venue continues to generate buzz across Plano.

Plano ISD Construction Push Gains Momentum

Plano ISD’s 2022 bond projects are picking up speed, with two major efforts on track for completion in 2026. That includes a new Career and Technical Education hub designed to expand hands-on learning opportunities for students.

Upgrades at Haggard Middle School are also progressing. District leaders say the improvements are part of a broader effort to modernize campuses and better align facilities with workforce-focused programs.

New Retail Buildings Planned in West Plano

Developers behind the Promontory on Preston mixed-use project are moving ahead with plans for four new retail buildings. The project, previously approved at the concept level, continues to take shape as filings move through the state review process.

The additions would further build out the growing retail corridor in West Plano, an area that has seen steady investment in recent years.
