Anyone needing permits, documents, or in-person assistance is encouraged to complete business before the holiday or plan for the next business day. While administrative offices will be closed, the city emphasized that essential operations will remain active.

Public safety services, including police, fire, and emergency response, will continue operating without interruption throughout the holiday.

Planning Commission Meeting Canceled

The city has also announced the cancellation of the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, February 9. Officials noted that the meeting will not be rescheduled, and there is currently no replacement date planned.

The next regular Planning Commission meeting later in February is expected to proceed as scheduled. Residents with applications, public comments, or other items tied to the commission are advised to keep an eye on the city’s meeting calendar for updated agendas and timelines.

City staff recommend checking meeting materials in advance, as cancellations can affect review schedules for development proposals or zoning-related items.

Ongoing Winter Operations and Safety Reminders

With winter conditions firmly in place, Maple Grove continues to focus on snow and ice management across the city. Public works crews are actively plowing and maintaining hundreds of miles of roads, residential streets, and cul-de-sacs.

Residents are reminded that snow operations can take time during prolonged or repeated weather events. Allowing crews room to work helps keep roads safer for everyone.

Homeowners are also being asked to clear snow from around nearby fire hydrants. The city recommends maintaining at least five feet of clearance on all sides. Keeping hydrants accessible can significantly reduce response times during emergencies, especially in heavy snow conditions.
