Osseo Area Schools set to finish multiple construction projects before 2026-27 classes begin

Osseo Area Schools expects construction projects at Osseo Middle and Osseo Senior High to wrap up before the 2026-27 school year, bringing updated facilities and changing building access for students, families, staff and community users in Osseo.

The district outlined the work in a June 5, 2026, construction update. It said projects at the two Osseo schools were among those expected to be completed before classes begin, but the update did not guarantee that every listed project will be finished on opening day.

What is changing at district schools

The district’s improvements include library media centers, flexible learning spaces and outdoor classrooms at district sites. New signage was also planned at many schools.

The update identified work at several campuses beyond Osseo Middle and Osseo Senior High, including Aspen Ridge Elementary, Fernbrook, Edinbrook and Maple Grove Middle. The district described the effort as part of broader construction across its facilities.

At Maple Grove Senior High, the work includes a three-story classroom addition, completion of the cafeteria and locker-room improvements. A main-entry addition is expected to continue into 2027, meaning construction activity will not end at every district site when the 2026-27 school year starts.

Summer access restrictions

Construction will also affect people who use district buildings outside regular school programming. A separate district notice said some buildings would be closed to certain community-use permits from June 1 through Aug. 31, 2026.

That restriction can affect community organizations and other facility users seeking access during the summer. The district said school programming would remain the priority during construction.

The notice does not identify the exact number of Osseo residents affected, and the district’s construction update does not provide final project costs. The projects are district initiatives, not City of Osseo municipal projects.
