Rancho Cucamonga Lists Six Prospective 2026 Election Candidates
Rancho Cucamongaโs election page lists six people who pulled nomination papers for the cityโs Nov. 3, 2026, General Municipal Election. The update covers the mayorโs office, one City Council seat in District 2 and one seat in District 3.
The prospective field includes Jaskirat Sondh, Lynne Kennedy and Marjorie Hamada for mayor; David VanGorden and Kristine Scott for District 2; and Stacy Henry for District 3. The cityโs page lists three mayoral paper-pull entries, two for District 2 and one for District 3.
The regular nomination period closed Aug. 7 at 4:30 p.m. However, the cityโs โPapers Filedโ column remains blank for the listed individuals. That means the current page does not establish who completed filing or qualified for the ballot, whether any contest is uncontested, or whether the possible filing extension applies to any office.
The next public step is the candidate-statement public-examination period, which runs Aug. 8 through Aug. 17. If an incumbent did not file or qualify by the regular deadline, non-incumbents may receive an extension to file through Aug. 12 at 4:30 p.m. The available city records do not state whether that condition applies.
