Richardson Gas Near $3.81 as Dallas-Area Diesel Eases to $5.03

Richardson drivers are seeing two different fuel-price trends Wednesday: the cheapest listed local chain price for regular gasoline is $3.81 per gallon, while the Dallas-area diesel average has eased to $5.0315.

The Richardson figure comes from a station listing updated August 5 at 6:54 a.m. CT. It is a station-level snapshot, not a citywide average. The listing showed 7-Eleven as the cheapest chain at $3.81, with QuikTrip, RaceTrac, Valero and Shell near $3.85. Prices can change during the day and may differ from one location to another.

Dallas-area gasoline is higher than the last comparisons

AAA’s August 5 Dallas metro data put regular gasoline at an average of $3.7030 per gallon. That is higher than AAA’s previous-day average of $3.5325 and its previous-week average of $3.6418.

The AAA figure is a Dallas metro average, not a Richardson-only price. It provides broader market context, while the local station listing shows what at least some drivers may find at the pump inside Richardson. Drivers comparing prices should check more than one station before filling up.

Diesel drops but remains above $5

Diesel followed a different path. AAA reported an August 5 Dallas metro average of $5.0315 per gallon, down from $5.0575 the previous day and $5.1474 a week earlier. Even after that decline, diesel remains just above the $5 threshold.

That matters most for contractors, delivery companies, service businesses and other operators that use heavier vehicles or diesel equipment. Fuel costs can affect operating budgets and may add pressure to delivery, repair, landscaping, construction and restaurant supply expenses, although the available price data does not establish that any particular Richardson business has changed its prices.

How the latest numbers compare with the last check

The previous same-site fuel-price check recorded roughly $3.592 for gasoline and $5.133 for diesel on July 31. Compared with that check, the current gasoline snapshot is higher, while diesel is lower but still costly for commercial and heavy-duty drivers.
