Richmond’s New Hydrogen Facility
Raven SR is set to establish a facility in Richmond that will convert organic waste into renewable hydrogen fuel. Located at the closed West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill, the plant aims to produce 6,500 kilograms of hydrogen daily, contributing to cleaner air and reduced reliance on fossil fuels. The facility is expected to generate 60% of its power on-site by utilizing methane gas from the landfill.
Police-Involved Shooting on I-80
A Richmond police detective fatally shot a man on Interstate 80 near Hercules. The incident occurred when the detective, traveling in an unmarked vehicle, stopped to assist a motorist blocking traffic. An altercation ensued, leading to the shooting. The California Department of Justice is leading the investigation into the incident.
