Castelion’s Project Ranger Breaks Ground
On January 29, 2026, Castelion, a defense technology company, commenced construction on Project Ranger, a 1,000-acre manufacturing campus in Sandoval County, near Rio Rancho. This $150 million investment is expected to generate over $650 million in economic output over the next decade and create 300 high-paying jobs for New Mexicans. The campus will produce solid rocket motors and assemble components for advanced defense systems, with the first building slated for completion this summer and all 21 buildings operational by the end of 2026.
City Hosts Fast-Track Hire Event
In an effort to connect job seekers with employment opportunities, the City of Rio Rancho held a Fast-Track Hire Event on January 31, 2026, at The Hub, 7845 Enchanted Hills Blvd. Qualified candidates underwent expedited hiring processes, including same-day interviews and fast-tracked next steps, aiming to streamline employment for residents.
