Rolesville’s Wallbrook development moves into new August review cycle
Wallbrook is entering another review phase in Rolesville as the South Main Street development combines active construction, an approved child-care site plan and infrastructure work that remains under town review.
The Town of Rolesville received a revised construction-infrastructure submission for Lot 12 on July 27, 2026. The submission entered the town’s August review cycle and includes clearing, mass grading and an extension of the public sewer system.
A Board of Commissioners meeting is scheduled for Aug. 18, 2026. The meeting is the next listed board date, but the town has not identified it as a confirmed decision date for the Lot 12 submission. The filing’s entry into the review cycle therefore marks a planning milestone, not a final approval.
Construction and approved plans
Construction on the Chase Bank and Chipotle sites began in March 2026, according to the town’s Wallbrook project status information. Those sites are among the development’s commercial components along the South Main Street corridor.
In June, the town approved the Kiddie Academy site development plan for 851 S. Main St. The approval establishes the site-plan status, but it does not establish an opening date for the child-care facility.
The town also lists a Publix grocery store and three other retail buildings as part of the approved Wallbrook development. A Lennar townhome community is listed as built during 2025-26, giving the project both housing and commercial elements.
Plans still under review
Other Wallbrook proposals have not reached the same status. The PNC Bank site plan and the Chapel Hill Tire site plan remain under review, according to the town’s project listing.
The project information lists Wallbrook addresses at 633, 705, 725 and 851 S. Main St. Together, the listed projects span retail, banking, vehicle service, child care, housing and public utilities.
For residents and businesses, the development means more construction activity and additional destinations along South Main Street, while the sewer extension represents related public-utility work. The combination could affect access and traffic patterns around the corridor, although traffic and utility impacts have not been quantified in the project information.
The town has not provided final opening dates for the businesses listed in the Wallbrook status information. Current project statuses therefore remain important: construction is underway at some sites, Kiddie Academy has an approved site plan, the Lennar townhome community is listed as built, and the PNC Bank, Chapel Hill Tire and Lot 12 items remain in review.
