Roseville Transit is proposing a $4 fare for Commuter and Game Day Express, a $2 fare for Rapid Link after its free period, and a three-zone structure for Arrow. The changes are not approved and would take effect on different dates in 2027.
For Commuter, the city says the proposal would eliminate the resident discount and Resident Discount ID requirement. Separately, Game Day Express riders who are Roseville residents and currently pay $3.25 would pay the proposed $4 fare. Riders paying the current $4.50 general fare on either service would pay 50 cents less.
| Service | Current fare | Proposed change |
|---|---|---|
| Commuter | $4.50 general; $3.25 for Roseville residents | $4 for all riders starting Jan. 1, 2027; $135 30-day pass proposed |
| Game Day Express | $4.50 general; $3.25 for Roseville residents | $4 starting Jan. 1, 2027 |
| Rapid Link | Free | $2 starting March 1, 2027 |
| Arrow | $3.75 general; $2.50 senior/ADA | $2.50 and three zones starting Sept. 1, 2027 |
| Local | $1.50 general; $0.75 senior/ADA | No change proposed |
| ADA Paratransit | $2.50 | No change proposed |
How the Arrow proposal could affect trips
The proposed $2.50 Arrow fare is $1.25 below the current general fare and matches the current senior/ADA fare. The three-zone plan could mean some trips beyond a riderโs initial zone require a transfer to or from a fixed-route bus. Seniors and ADA passengers would be exempt from the zone restriction and could continue traveling anywhere in Roseville on one ride. The hearing notice describes three zones but does not give their boundaries.
Rapid Link launched Oct. 1, 2026, and is scheduled to remain free until March 1, 2027. The city says its fare proposal is intended to simplify fare purchasing and processing. It cites reliability concerns and long waits as reasons for the Arrow zones, saying they are intended to allocate limited vehicles and improve reliability.
Hearing scheduled for Nov. 17
The Transportation Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on Nov. 17, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 311 Vernon St., Roseville. The city is seeking public comment. If the commission approves the proposal, the City Council is scheduled to consider it on Dec. 2 and Dec. 16.
